E-Procurement
When your IT users place an order for a new service, or bundle of services, they neither know nor care about the location of the suppliers who will fulfill that order. In their eyes, the traditional distinction between internal service delivery and external e-procurement is therefore irrelevant.
But to the IT department it’s all too relevant. Typically, they find themselves acting as the human interface between their internal customers and external suppliers, using product-centric e-procurement systems that make it difficult to track any but the simplest service orders across multiple 3rd parties. And even where the e-procurement function is outsourced, IT still get the blame when a delay or an error occurs.
Biomni makes life simpler for everyone by integrating all e-procurement functions directly into the core request management system to create a single end-to-end process. External supplier catalogs can be loaded either manually or automatically, and price profiling rules applied, before being published to end users. Product items can then be browsed and added to a shopping cart individually or packaged into bundles with associated service items for added convenience, without any manual intervention from IT.
Benefits of this end-to-end “single touch” approach include:
- tighter control of inventory and assets
- easy process automation (i.e. direct software push) onto target machines
- holistic measurement of product and service suppliers, and the ability to switch them in and out without affecting the end-user experience
- automation of “green initiatives” such as real-time asset checking for recycling opportunities or control and auditing of old asset disposal
- automatic formatting and delivery of purchase orders to suppliers via their preferred method, e.g. cXML, custom XML, email or fax
- integrated status updates and delivery information to keep requestors abreast of their order status.
