Biomni announces strategic partnership with Steria

London, 14 Jan 2008. Biomni is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Steria, a leading European provider of IT-driven business services. Steria provides consulting services for its clients’ core business processes, and also develops and operates their information systems.

Although Steria had establish systems and processes for raising requests for products and/or services there were a number of challenges that needed addressing:

  • Firstly there were multiple systems and associated processes for raising requests, which often lead to confusion and frustration for the Steria end-users.
  • There was no automated mechanism for authorisation routing, which meant extensive manually processing to ensure the appropriate approvals occurred.
  • Once approved, requests were manually processed requiring significant re-keying across a number of systems and/or spreadsheets; also making self-service tracking for requestors nearly impossible.
  • A manual after-the-fact receipting process, which made the matching process complex and drawn out

The implementation of Biomni’s Request Management Suite has enabled Steria to address these challenges with the following results:

  • Requests are now raised through an intuitive common user interface (Directa) regardless of the request type (for products, services, or bundles), resulting in a more cohesive and consistent user experience.
  • Authorisations are automatically generated based on what has been requested and who and what project or department the request is for via Biomni’s powerful authorisation engine, removing the need for manual intervention.
  • Once approved all requests are automatically matched to the appropriate fulfilment process, which orchestrates the tasks that need to be undertaken to fulfil the request, including updating the end-user with status information.
  • Integration adapters enable the automated integration of key transactions between the Biomni applications and Steria’s in-house systems. For example, the creation of a purchase order from request information captured within the Biomni applications within Steria’s financial application.
  • An intuitive user-interface enables end-users to receive products and/or services including an automated interface into Steria’s financial application enabling a more efficient matching process.

Next, Steria will provide this platform to a number of itsclients, providing those clients with similar benefits and increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery. “Implementing Biomni, has enabled Steria to automate and standardise request processes which were manual and spread across multiple systems, improve efficiency by integrating requests into existing corporate systems and implement transparency of the request process for all users”, according to Duncan Sterling, Business Services Manager of Steria’s Global Services Unit.
