Biomni announces key product updates in Q1 2008
London, 14 Jan 2008. Biomni, the leading provider of Enterprise Request Management and Service Catalogue technology, is pleased to announce several product updates scheduled for availability within Q1 2008. “This release will include updates to our flagship modules, Directa and Connecta, as well as introduce Connecta Analytics”, says Angus Gregory, Biomni CEO.
Directa 5.1 includes significant user-interface extentions to Biomni’s powerful multi-supplier catalogue engine including an ITIL V3-based Service Catalogue view that can be easily populated and tailored without scripting or programming. The interface dynamically generates based on settings held in user profiles thereby enabling users easily toggle between the Service Catalogue and more conventional catalogue browsing. Additional enhancements include enhanced administration and improved bulk loading performance.
Connecta 2.0 includes an improved user-interface as well as numerous API enhancements in Biomni’s orchestration engine. “These enhancements enable even more sophisticated bi-directional integration with back office platforms. For example, a software request can now acquire extensive details about the target device for which the software will be installed, verify licensing availability real-time, and trigger an automated software delivery task to a systems and asset management platform”, according to Andreas Antoniou, Biomni CTO. “And of course, we are particularly pleased to announce our long-awaited Connecta Analytics Module”.
Connecta Analytics is built on Microsoft SQL Server Reporting and Analysis Services and integrated into the Connecta application. It provides a suite of standard reports along with a framework within which new reports can easily be built and deployed by a business analyst skillset. The module is integrated into the Connecta product in two ways: Firstly, all transactional data of Connecta is periodically transferred to a reporting database more to maximize performance. Secondly, access to numerous pre-packaged reports is integrated into the Connecta user interface and security model. Connecta Analytics is provided in a separately sold module that includes an SDK layer to enable reporting database access by 3rd-party tools, and the Analytics layer, which provides integrated web-based dashboards integrated into Connecta’s console.
“We are particularly pleased with the advances represented in this release”, says Angus Gregory. “Biomni remains the single end-to-end solution for managing requests that require fulfillment across multiple parties or support for multiple customer entities. These updates provide greater accessibility to underlying features that have long since distinguished Biomni when faced with complex integration requirements.”
